Whangamata beach usage.

OPINION

I appeal to all New Zealands (who do not have allergic, moral, religious, cultural or motivational issues associated with harvesting and/or eating pippies or other shellfish) to make a 'when personally convenient' annual pilgrimage to Whangamata to gather pippies (or other shellfish) on the mad flats. Spreading our visits throughout the year (perhaps coordinating with you extended family) should help alleviate any unacceptable Environmental Impacts. The Conservation Minister has retained this land for all New Zealanders so I'm sure he has assessed the impact if we all use it.

We should all be proud of our Conservation Minister and congratulate him by enjoying this fine area he has saved for us all.

You may have trouble finding accommodation, this is temporary while MSD quickly manage the development of a 'School Camp' style accommodation facility.
